Kelly Slater Wins Big In So Cal.

Kelly Slater's win at the US Open Of Surfing was a Bit of a redemption of sorts. He hadnt won the us open in many years and at last years event went down in a contravercial semi-final vrs. Brett Simpson. With Two Time US Open winner a nd HB Local Out of the Event Early the door was wide open to the field and as the event progressed it saw Local Boy Kolhe Andino in the Semi's against Australian and Hurley Rider Yadin Nichol. The stage was being set for a Final pitting the FUture young Brother Andino Vrs. the 10X world Champ.. It was looking that way and great for San Clemete Surf Fans until Bob Burnquist and some crazy dudes fell from the sky and the ANTICS of the US open took over and mother Nature let up for a bit as it usually does about Semi Final time and Kolhe just got Sqeeked out in a nail biter that came down to the Last second but saw Yadin Nichol advance to meet Part Time San Clemente Resident Kelly Slater in the Final and it looked like Yadin was either star struck or not ready for the pressure and didnt even catch a wave until less than five minutes of the heat. He was not looking like a formidable oppent for the CHAMP and I would love to have seen young Brother V Slater as I know Kolohe would have put on a better show in the Final. The event was raised to another Level as usuall and Nike 6.0 as well as Hurley put on great event with good waves and the Surfing was Still Center Stage. Congrats Kelly for this win and your win at Lowers

This Years Nike 6.0 Lowers Pro Had many Plot angles to ad to the amazing and progressive surfing that was put on display by Local San Clemente Pro's as well as the contingency of Brazilinian pro's eager to show the world they ready for the Big Leages and a shot on the World Tour. San Clementes Kolohe Andino Fresh of a Double Win in HB where he took both the Mens 4 star WQS Event and the Oakley Pro Junior, Looked like an early favorite to win this event as he was Sticking Huge Airs and just laying it on Rail to flawless perfection in an early round heat to knock out Dusty Payne Of Hawaii. Brother Andino was eventually upset in early Morning Quarter Final Vrs Jessie Mendez Of Brazil

Tanner Gudauskis - Local Boy Puts On A Show

The Story of this years event was Brazil Vrs San Clemente, This event had some of the Hottest young talent in the Surf World Battleing for a spot on the Big Stage the WCT. After his win H.B. Kolohe Andino is looking strong to possibly qualify for the WORLD TOUR. Miguel Pupo of Brazil is also looking for a spot on the CT'. As the event got underway the SC Pro's went down one by one as wildcard invite Dane G. went down day 1 - Chris Ward went down to two Japanese Surfers- Day 2 saw Nate Yeomans go down but was surfing it also had one of the most pivitol heats of the event as 2 brazilians 2 San Clemente surfs and one WCT Veteran , Adriano Desuza went down at the last minute as Brother Andino and Tanner Advance in a nail bitter. Day 3 had sick little glassy waves as you can see in the video above and this day was nuts Brother Andino;s Stale 360 Jadsen Andre just goin mental on the Lefts and Veteran Cory Lopez killing it. Day 4 had Pat G go down to Brazilian Gabriel Medina who was super smooth in the heat he took out Pat G.In The End it was Tanner G. Puttin in a great effort but falling short to the Brazilian Miguel Pupo, was was Very deserving of the win as he rode the new format GOLD JERSEY all the way to the Podium.
